Manakudi, Kanyakumari District
The nation of India being stunned into silence by the Killer
Tsunami of December 26. The Jesus Redeems ministries swung into
relief action moved by the compassion of Jesus Christ.

The founder of Jesus
Redeems, Bro. Mohan C. Lazarus, himself wanted to see the massive
destruction unleashed by the Giant Waves. So he along with a team
visited the affected coastal town of Manakudi in the Kanyakumari
District of Tamil Nadu on the 2 January, 2005. |
 |
What this team saw moved them to
tears. That village seemed just out of a war. Broken houses, capsized
boats, pain-wracked hearts is what they saw. |
 |
Around 800 people of this village
were destroyed by the Tsunami, they were told. Those who barely
escaped did so with just their clothing on them - they had lost
all their other possessions. The books and notes of the School-going
children of this village were taken into the turbulent sea on
the fateful day. |
 |
The Jesus Redeems team comforted
the shell-shocked villagers and listened to their cries and sobs.
They gave relief material worth Rs. 1 lakh to them. |
 |
Bedsheets, Sarees, Dhotis, Towels,
Water Bottles, Biscuits, Apples, Cooking Vessels were among the
relief material distributed to the affected people. The Jesus
Redeems Hosur Branch gave these precious people 3000 kgs of rice. |

When the families of
that area gathered Bro. Mohan C. Lazarus
shared a message that explained from the Bible why such a disaster
took place and prayed for God's comfort upon them. Many were in
tears as the Spirit the God moved mightily amongst them they surrendered
their lives to Jesus, the God of all hope. |
